I have quite a few. They’re all backed up because things have been happening here. My kids got strep throat, and not at the same time. Then taxes…that’s finally done. But homeworks and projects still up, although that one I can manage.

The Billionaire Next Door (Silhouette Special Edition)
by Jessica Bird
Mass Market Paperback
Published in 2007

Do you ever have a book that you find yourself re-reading almost every word even if you know already what is going to happen next? Despite the fact that all the good parts are known to you, you find yourself reading it again.

If I find myself in a reading funk, I have a bookshelf corner guaranteed to get me out of it. One of these books is Jessica Bird’s The Billionaire Next Door. The last time I re-read it, it took me 3.5 hours. I broke my heart right alongside Lizzie when Sean jumps to the wrong conclusion. I heaved my happy sigh at the end. Then I stared dreamily at the cover and put it right back on my shelf for the next time.

That’s when I noticed I have an extra copy of this book. I know I go overboard about books I like, but I distinctly remember sending one copy to my sister in the Philippines, loaning another one to another sister down the street, and giving one to my friend. Now, I still have more, so I’m going to give this to one lucky winner.

I hope that you find this book to be entertaining and sweet like I do. Jessica Bird also writes as JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood. It’s a kick-ass vampire series. I can’t decide which of the brothers I like more. After I got over my hang-up about the over-peppering of H’s, like Rhage and Phury, I love it!

So, this give-away is for a different genre.

Heart of Gold
by Jessica Bird
Mass Market Paperback

I have this book forever. You see, I started reading JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I heard so many good things about the book, that I plunk about a hundred bucks for the 5 book series then. After reading that, after I got over the books’ penchant for letter ‘h’, I can’t get enough of the author. I think I paid 20 bucks for this out-of-print book. My local library didn’t have it, and I just wanted to read it. But then by the time I got it, I was catching up on Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series. I thought Heart of Gold will be perfect for Sunday Saloon.

I read from page 98 – 268. I took my book in my backyard and while my two little ones were digging a hole to China, I was getting lost in Carter and Nick’s world. Carter is an archeologist who’s digging in Nick’s mountain. They didn’t start on friendly terms and I just like the part where the guy not-so-reluctantly falls in love. The courting dance is so engrossing. Jessica Bird aka JR Ward (in her vampire series) does it so well, I fall in love with Nick too.

I still have 170 pages left, and I’m looking forward to finishing them. There’s nothing like a good book to make my Sunday extra special. I even missed a Six Flags trip for it, and season finale of One Tree Hill season 1 of DVD. That’s how good this book is!

This is the second of related book. The first one is a story about Carter’s cousin in Leaping Hearts.

I never know exactly what book I’ll be reading next, but I’m thinking of reading the following:
In Bed with the Devil by Lorraine Heath
The Brat by Lynsay Sands
Alexandria Link by Steve Berry
Die Trying by Lee Child (finish it maybe)
