Heart of Gold
by Jessica Bird
Mass Market Paperback

I have this book forever. You see, I started reading JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I heard so many good things about the book, that I plunk about a hundred bucks for the 5 book series then. After reading that, after I got over the books’ penchant for letter ‘h’, I can’t get enough of the author. I think I paid 20 bucks for this out-of-print book. My local library didn’t have it, and I just wanted to read it. But then by the time I got it, I was catching up on Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series. I thought Heart of Gold will be perfect for Sunday Saloon.

I read from page 98 - 268. I took my book in my backyard and while my two little ones were digging a hole to China, I was getting lost in Carter and Nick’s world. Carter is an archeologist who’s digging in Nick’s mountain. They didn’t start on friendly terms and I just like the part where the guy not-so-reluctantly falls in love. The courting dance is so engrossing. Jessica Bird aka JR Ward (in her vampire series) does it so well, I fall in love with Nick too.

I still have 170 pages left, and I’m looking forward to finishing them. There’s nothing like a good book to make my Sunday extra special. I even missed a Six Flags trip for it, and season finale of One Tree Hill season 1 of DVD. That’s how good this book is!

This is the second of related book. The first one is a story about Carter’s cousin in Leaping Hearts.

I never know exactly what book I’ll be reading next, but I’m thinking of reading the following:
In Bed with the Devil by Lorraine Heath
The Brat by Lynsay Sands
Alexandria Link by Steve Berry
Die Trying by Lee Child (finish it maybe)
