This was taken in San Francisco, at the base of the bridge. There’s a little park there with luscious flowers. These are smiles of relief that you see because we survived walking half of the bridge with a 2-year old in two without a stroller.

It has been a long time since I had grabbed a book and have it hold my attention. That does not mean I do not enjoy the books I have been reading, because I do. However, I have not been captivated for a book. I even wish for longer wait at Sam’s Tire place, or getting stuck in traffic. I show up at the height of ‘rush hour’ at the school so I can stay and wait and read my book.

I cannot even wait for an audio because I wanted to read it now. This book is by Joy Fielding. My mother read her. She has this large print edition lying around in my house, so I picked it up on a lark just to see what sort of book she’s been reading. Right on the first page, I can feel that excitement of a good book. Joy Fielding never disappoint. It is a grand roller coaster ride of a book. I wonder if she writes like this all the time.

There is so much tension, and excitement. It’s almost hard to bear! This story is about 4 women who happens to live in the same street. They have developed a friendship. They have different personality. Vicki is a lawyer, a go-getter, and fearless. She’s views marital cheating in a don’t ask, don’t lie attitude. Barbara is a former beauty Queen, and she lives her life by that rule. She’s always made up, and she’s always poise. However, her husband is a skirt chaser. Susan is married to a wonderful doctor. She pursued a career in publication and landed a job which almost put her marriage at risk. Then there’s Chris. She’s meek, and her husband tells her what to do all the time.

All these in one clever book and you have hours of entertainment. I wanted so much for someone else to read this book and share the excitement. So, even though I can’t offer my mother’s large print copy, I will buy a good copy for the winner of this post.
