Mass Market Paperback
Published in 2007
ISBN-10: 0-373-76802-8
Condition: very good

Katherine Garbera writes wonderful stories worth reading. Check out her other releases here. I read many books out of Desire lines. They're great for vacation..light enough for your purse, but fun.

Book blurb:
MISTRESS: SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED

Years ago, in a desperate move, a suddenly destitute Bella McNamara had agreed to become millionaire Jeremy Harper's mistress for six months.

Now the time had finally come for Jeremy to claim her. But he didn't know he already owned every inch of Bella, including her heart. She'd fallen madly in love with the powerful man even before she'd signed herself away. And now she had six very intimate months to put her own plan into action: becoming Jeremy's beloved wife.

THE MISTRESSES: Wealthy men want them...and their price is love!

Joan JohnstonThe Bodyguard
by Joan Johnston

Mass Market Paperback
Published in 1998
ISBN-10: 0-440-22377-6

I read Joan Johnston forever. When I was 12, I was following her Silhouette Desire series. What fantastic stories they were. I'll put them up here soon. I have yet to unpack that box since we moved last year.

This is historical romance, but as usual, a very good story.

What amazon said:
The Bodyguard is the latest historical in Joan Johnston's Captive Hearts series. Set in Regency-era Scotland, Katherine MacKinnon's father names her the head of the MacKinnon clan on his deathbed and extracts a secret promise: Katherine must trick the duke of Blackthorne into marrying her in order to bear a child that would rightfully own the lands that were taken from the MacKinnons by the Blackthorne family.
Katherine's clansmen, however, will not accept a woman as their laird, and all are determined to marry her off to one of their own. Intent on fulfilling her promise to her father, Katherine desperately searches for a bodyguard and ultimately finds Alex. Afflicted with amnesia since being shipwrecked, Alex finds Katherine interesting and happily agrees to protect her.

What Alex doesn't know is that he is the duke of Blackthorne, and that the shipwreck was an attempt on his life. Katherine discovers this truth before Alex does, and she must decide whether to tell him or not, knowing that this truth kill their blossoming love.

Twelve Sharp (Stephanie Plum, No. 12)
by Janet Evanovich
Mass Market Paperback
Published in 2007
Condition: Good, front cover curls up.

I find myself with an extra copy of Stephanie Plum series. This is book #12, but each book of the series is a stand alone read also. There's going to be 14 books in this series at the end of the year.

If you've never heard of Stephanie Plum, here's your chance.

From Publisher's Weekly:
The mixture of slapstick and gunplay that has put Evanovich's series about a sassy, less than competent New Jersey bounty hunter at the top of bestseller lists once again works its magic in Stephanie Plum's latest caper (after 2005's Eleven on Top). Stephanie, who freely admits her failings as a hunter of fugitives, faces a growing work backlog that threatens the continued existence of her job. Her clumsy efforts to clear some cases, along with the help of her outrageous colleague, Lula, result only in their adding another sad sack to the office payroll—a forlorn shoe salesman who's talked off a ledge by Stephanie's offer of a position as file clerk. Stephanie's ambivalence toward the two men in her life becomes harder to maintain when one of them, the mysterious Ranger, is accused of kidnapping his own daughter. Countless over-the-top scenes, including one at a funeral parlor, will delight longtime fans.

Jack & Jilted (Harlequin Blaze)
by Cathy Yardley
Mass Market Paperback

I love the Harlequin Blaze line. It's spicy and fun. I need to unpack my boxfull of these books and put them up. If you like Blaze, or if you're just itching to try one, here's you chance.

What readers say about this book:

Always delivers a great book!
The author never fails to develop interesting side characters as well as believable, real main characters in her books. Loved the premise for this one, and the theme, of someone breaking away from her normal life and daring to experience something new. But this isn't about one of your heiresses or socialites realizing themselves, but a real person, like your best friend or coworker. Enjoyed where most of the action takes place too--on a yacht for hire! And of course the chemistry is hot! Thanks for a great read! Her stories never disappoint.

  1. Free 12: The Secretary's Secret by Michelle Celmer

I had thought I have two copies of this book. Turned out that I was just really sleepy when I posted this one, again.

I am offering a subsitute.

Instead of the title above, this will be the book that will be mailed:
Executive Seduction (Silhouette Desire)
by Kristi Gold
Mass Market Paperback
Condition: Used, good.

Book snippet:
T.V. Chef Corri Harris wasn't surprised to receive the "Dear Corri" letter from her fiancé Kevin O'Brien, but she was furious with his timing (ten minutes before live air) and his method. Corri knew her job was doomed, when her temper got the better of her near the end of the show, and she demonstrated her skill with a knife and a cucumber and announced to her audience that she'd been dumped. When station owner, Aidan O'Brien reads the letter he fully understands Corri's anger but he isn't sorry about the breakup. Though he'd been in a relationship at the time, he's always regretted introducing Corri to his brother, Kevin, and now that they are no longer a couple and he is free, it means he has a shot with Corri. Only Corri doesn't yet know the big networks are wooing her, and that's why Aidan keeps things between them no-strings-attached. It seems that it's always bad timing keeping them apart.

I know you're awaiting for the drawing of this book with baited breath. I had my drawing production all planned out and it's going to be videotaped....

You know what they say about plans of mice and men. My two youngest children came down with high fever and runny nose and coughing. They got so clingy, I didn't have enough hands or energy to do anything else but cuddle and bribe them to take their medicines.

Still, we have a winner! I wrote every contender's name in a paper of similar size. Rolled them up, put them in an empty fish bowl...shake them all around and have one of my children picked up the lucky winner.

Drum rolls please....

Congratulations to Jen in WA. You won Dakota Cassidy's signed copy of The Accidental Werewolf. Please e-mail me your name and address. If I could, I would have entered my name too. I would love to get a signed copy of this book. There's just something about signed book.

The next one in the series is called ACCIDENTALLY DEAD, and it's coming out in July. I'm pre-ordering a copy, and I'm almost sure I'd share my copy with you guys, so stay tuned.

Catching your fiance being sodomized by a hooker can do that to a relationship. Unfortunately for Lisa, this mess put a huge kink in her carefully orchestrated life plan. Template Again

2 comments:
I have a short attention span when it comes to templates. It's probably a good thing I can't program a template code worth anything or I might never quit from constantly tweaking and changing my blog looks. Does it look a little lopsided to you? Hmmm. I can't quite decide.

But then again, I really gotta sleep because I get to do carpool in the morning.

What do you think of this template?

Drawing for this book will be held later on today. Don't forget that on the 21st, there will be drawing for Dakota Cassidy's signed copy of The ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF. I am so tempted to leave a comment myself...but alas, no can do.

I used to read 15 or more books like this a week before I had any children. Out of habbit, I still hoard them, that's why you see them a lot here for free. It's perfect for busy Moms. It's short enough to enjoy and long enough to get off your feet.

What readers said:

Attractive, funny couple with great sexual chemistry
Nick Bateman and Zoë Simmons are great together as a romantic couple. Both are attractive, funny with great sexual chemistry between the two. Nick is Zoë Simmons' boss and she's his secretary. The employer/employee relationship between the two is friendly and neither wanted to ruin the great camaraderie between them.

This books starts out with a bang, with Zoë trying to sneak out of the hotel room that she just shared with her boss, Nick. The evening before, Nick had just bailed out of marrying someone else (Believe me the woman deserved it) and ended up in the hotel room being comforted by his ever so efficient secretary, Zoë. He's worried about ruining his friendly relationship with his secretary, but remembers that she did not want any commitment. So why worry.... Yeah Right.

Judy Baer is an inspiration Christian Romance writer. When I said all kinds of free books, this is what I mean. I'll have books from all kind so of spectrum. I like inspirational romance. They make my heart sigh in satisfaction. It's romance of my youth...not that I am that old. I'm only 35.

What readers say about this book:

An entertaining and touching read
"Sleeping Beauty" is a charming novel by Judy Baer about a young woman, Suze Charles, who has had issues with sleepwalking her entire life. Her college escapades are legendary! Her mother is in denial that Suze still sleepwalks now that she's grown up. Her sister is adopting a baby from South America, and must leave her "vivacious" 4 year-old twin sons with Suze for a couple of months! Suze is considering turning down a great job that will require much travel because of her "problem". And now she's met a handsome doctor who just happens to specialize in sleep disorders! What a tangled web Suze's life is. This novel is never dull - that's for sure!

This is a treat. It's one of my favorites from this author. Actually, there isn't much that is not a favorite by this author. I'm giving away paperback copy of this book. It's in good condition, and the story is fabulous. I cried and I laughed my head off on this book. If you haven't tried SEP, then it's about time.

From Publishers Weekly
A small town's prodigal daughter returns to face her past in bestseller Phillips's latest cheeky, diverting fairy tale. Sugar Beth Carey, "the wild child of Parrish, Mississippi," was once the queen of all she surveyed, but after 15 years and three marriages, she's a broken (and broke) husk of her former self. Who's loving the schadenfreude? The Seawillows, for starters-the gaggle of Southern belles Sugar dumped years ago, plus Winnie Davis, the half-sister she treated like dirt. And there's more: not only did Sugar stomp on gorgeous Ryan Galantine's heart (luckily, Winnie caught him on the rebound), she also got Colin Byrne, the sexy British high school teacher, fired for ostensibly coming on to her...

Alpine Christmas (Emma Lord Mysteries)
by Mary Daheim
Mass Market Paperback, 272 Pages, Published in 1993

I like mystery. The author which brought me to mystery is John D. MacDonald. I used to find it very weird indeed to read a book not written in 3rd person singular. I feel like I'm missing too much. Then Travis McGee came into my life, and I got sucked in. Along came JA Jance's JP Beaumont, Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone, Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. I am so glad I ventured out of my romantic fiction world.

Book Description:
An Emma Lord Mystery.
Christmas in the town of Alpine means fresh snow, carolers, even a sleigh. But then the discovery of a woman's leg in the lake, along with that of another young woman's nude, half-frozen body, deflates everyone's high spirits. But as Emma Lord, editor and publisher of The Alpine Advocate, follows up on the story, the bits and pieces of the young women who keep turning up start adding up to a murder scheme so sinister it may well land Emma on her own obituary page . . .
